Shabana, Javed celebrate 30 years of togetherness

Veteran actress-social activist Shabana Azmi and lyricist-writer Javed Akhtar Tuesday clocked 30 years of marriage.

The actress took to micro-blogging site Twitter to sum up her journey with her husband's quote.

"It's our 30th wedding anniversary 2day (Tuesday). To quote Javed 'Shabana and I are such good friends that even marriage couldn't ruin our friendship'," Shabana, who looks at Javed's 50-year journey in Mumbai with "respect", tweeted.

After ending his marriage with Honey Irani, a scriptwriter for Hindi films, Javed married Shabana in 1984.

Actress Gul Panag also wished the couple: "@AzmiShabana What a journey! Heartiest congratulations:)," she tweeted.
