Shabana Azmi gets a warm welcome on the sets of Amma!

Shabana Azmi is a fabulous actress and it is every actor's dream to work with her once in their career. Almost two decades after wielding a gun on the big screen in and as Godmother, veteran actress Shabana Azmi is set to reprise the role on the small screen in Ek Maa Jo Ban Gayi Lakho Ke Liye Amma on Zee.

She will take over from the Naqaab actress Urvashi Sharma to play the title role; the latter quit the show because she didn't look old enough for the part post the time leap of 15 years.

The young enterprising producer Farhn P. Zamma and Asif Shaikh made it possible to rope in Shabana Azmi to play the titular role in Ek Maa Jo Ban Gayi Lakho Ki Amma.

Says producer Farhn P. Zamma, "We wanted someone to exude that aura and grace, which will prompt the audience to accept the new Amma as a don, immediately. Shabanaji is the female Amitabh Bachchan for us. It couldn't have gotten any better than this for the show."

Ashmit Patel and Yuvika Chaudhary would also be seen in the show.
