Sapna: My director didn't take me seriously when I asked for THIS role

Pabbi will next be seen in Breathe, a web series where she plays a mother. Here's what she revealed about how she bagged a role in the series.



Popular for her stint in Indian television series 24, Sapna Pabbi is back to the screens with her upcoming web series titled Breathe. She will be playing the role of Ria Ganguly, an ex-wife, and a mother. Nothing else has been revealed about her character yet.

When asked how she bagged this role, the actress revealed, "I asked for it. My team brought this role to my attention and said this is my kind of series. But, they thought as it's the role of a mother I won't be interested and I immediately said No, give it to me. I am interested in this role".

She further narrated, "Later a meeting was arranged and walk into Mayank Sharma (the director) office. I wore my regular ripped jeans up to my thighs paired up with my boots and I had no shame about it. And he looked at me and said YOU? Do you want to play a Mother? And I don't think he took me seriously".




"Later, we had a chat where he explained my character and in one audition it was done. He was impressed and that's how I bagged this role", she concluded.

Breathe is directed by Mayank Sharma which will be premiered on January 26 on Amazon Prime Video. The story revolves around a father (R. Madhavan) making immoral choices to save his son. Amit Sadh plays the role of a cop Kabir Sawant in the series, even after disturbed life, he performs his duty with complete honesty.
