Samir Kochhar talks to us about cricket and the hot topic of IPL fixing...

Samir Kochhar at IPL Extra InningsSamir Kochhar who is seen hosting IPL on Set Max for the sixth time in a row was also seen in Bade Acche Laggte Hai on Sony TV as Rajat. Now not doing any fiction shows, Samir is concentrating on cricket and as we know that IPL spot fixing controversy is the burning topic today.

We had a chat with the man who has been hosting the cricket based show for six years now and who has a close view of all things cricket.

Says Samir, "I also saw what is happening about the IPL match fixing on all television channels. It's a sad state of affairs but I don't want to make any statements about it as only if the law officials feel that the cricketers are guilty they should be punished. I cannot comment on whatever happened but yes IPL season 6 has been one of the most wonderful seasons till date. Every match has been loved by the audience and there are tweets threading every moment."

"To be honest like all of you even I am a normal human being and have grown up watching cricket. Due to my profession at present, I have many cricketers as my friends so there is no question that just because its been said that IPL is rigged, I will not like cricket."

Sameer continues, "There were instances earlier too but that doesn't mean that IPL should be blamed for it as for few things the entire association is not at fault. I am not only the host but also someone who loves cricket. There was fixing that was reported in 90's too but that didn't mean that people stopped watching cricket so I don't feel that IPL should be blamed as IPL is a very unique platform where opportunity meets talent. Many new and dynamic players get to play and they can actually showcase their talent and get into the Indian team. It's a medium where they can prove their credibility to the world."

When asked which is his favorite team he said, "I like all the teams and I am attached to all the teams. I love cricket but yes I like Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals is good too. I like the way Rahul Dravid has put in his hard work and efforts."

When quizzed about what he plans to do after IPL he said, "I will be going to Sri Lanka on a holiday with my wife as I need some break. I shall leave on 31st of this month and after that I shall complete my movie projects."

You rock as a host Samir!
