With the release date of Salman Khan's dream project - Veer - looming closer, Khan is handling the project with more caution than before!

Determined
to make this movie a hit, Salman has firmly told the producers that the movie should not exceed a two and a half hour limit. Possibly an important lesson learned from Gowarikar? The director who garnered critical acclaim for his box office biggie Jodha Akhbar, was also simultaneously blasted for the length of the movie. And Salman does not want his epic film to have the same problem.

Confirming the news on his blog, Salman told fans "When you watch a period film, for some strange reason, it is believed that the film is going to be three hours plus, with flowery dialogues, very heavy with no humour in it but I assure you 'Veer' is not like them. We are trying to keep the film to about 2 hrs 35 minutes approx. There is so much of scale and bigness in the film that we don't want to compromise and lose out on anything."

This is no doubt a wise decision by Salman because had the director stuck to the original script, the budget for Veer would have exceed Rs. 100 crores and more importantly, would have been 5 hours long!

The script, penned by Salman himself, has since gone through umpteen changes. Some loved by the actor, and some hated. But all in all, Salman has taken these changes in his stride and we can't help looking forward to the movie which already has some fans eagerly counting down the days!
