Salman Khan is actively promoting his upcoming action-thriller Sikandar, set to hit theaters in the upcoming week. The actor, who usually stays away from press conferences, made an exception this time, interacting with the media and answering various questions related to his career, the film industry, and his latest project.
During the event, he spoke about working with younger actresses and the challenges that come with it. He acknowledged that while he is open to collaborating with emerging talents like Ananya Panday and Janhvi Kapoor, public perception often complicates matters. He pointed out that criticism around the age difference between him and his co-stars creates unnecessary hurdles. Despite this, he remains committed to offering opportunities to new talent, believing it benefits the industry.
Salman also reflected on the changing dynamics of Bollywood, particularly the decline of multi-starrer films. He recalled suggesting an ensemble project to a filmmaker, only to face rejection from actors unwilling to share screen space. According to him, his generation embraced multi-hero films, focusing on collective success rather than individual gains. He attributed the current trend to growing insecurities among actors, which he believes limit creative collaborations.
This discussion on age gaps between lead actors is not new for Salman. A few days prior, at the trailer launch of Sikandar, he addressed concerns regarding his pairing with Rashmika Mandanna, who is significantly younger than him. Dismissing the controversy, he emphasized that as long as the actors involved are comfortable, external opinions should not matter.
As the release date of Sikandar approaches, Salman remains focused on promoting the film. With high expectations from fans and industry insiders, the movie is anticipated to perform well at the box office. The actor’s rare media appearances and candid responses have further built excitement around the project, ensuring a strong buzz ahead of its premiere. The film is all set for a festive blast as it hit theatres on 30th March, 2025.
