After wrapping up his role in Sikandar, Salman Khan is gearing up for what he calls the “most physically demanding film” of his career. Titled Battle of Galwan, the war drama is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and revolves around the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops.

In a recent interaction with PTI, Salman revealed the intensity of the shoot schedule, saying he will be filming for 20 days in the high-altitude terrain of Ladakh and spending an additional 7 to 8 days filming in cold water. “It is physically demanding,” Salman said. “Earlier, I would train for a role in a couple of weeks. Now it takes more time. This film demands a lot—running, kicking, punching—along with extreme conditions like high altitude and freezing water.”

The actor emphasised that the action in Battle of Galwan is unlike anything he's done before. “In Sikandar, the action was different. This is more difficult, especially because of the location and the kind of combat the role involves,” he added.

Salman also touched upon the need for rigorous training to match the role’s physical challenges. “You can't afford to faint while doing action in freezing weather. That’s why the preparation is very important,” he explained.

The film’s first look was recently released, showing Salman in a rugged, battle-worn avatar. Fans were quick to compare the look to his earlier action films, but the actor insists this one stands apart in tone and treatment.

Interestingly, Battle of Galwan is not expected to release on Eid, a date usually associated with Salman’s films. Instead, it is eyeing a theatrical release in January 2026. Confirming this, Salman simply said, “Yes, January.”

He also confirmed that work is progressing on a sequel to his hit 2015 film Bajrangi Bhaijaan, further adding to the buzz around his upcoming slate. With Battle of Galwan, Salman steps into a space rooted in real events, adding a serious and patriotic edge to his filmography.
