Directed by the late Sanjay Gadhvi and produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner, Dhoom introduced Bollywood to a new era of stylish villains and high-speed chases. Salman Khan was initially approached to play the antagonist, Kabir, but he reportedly declined the offer. Similarly, Sanjay Dutt also turned down the role for undisclosed reasons. Eventually, the role landed in John Abraham’s lap, and it became a defining moment in his career.

John Abraham’s portrayal of Kabir, the suave and cunning biker-gang leader, was widely appreciated. His stylish looks and intense performance made him a fan favorite. The film also starred Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra, Esha Deol, and Rimi Sen in key roles.

Made on a reported budget of ?11 crore, Dhoom grossed over ?70 crore worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing films of 2004. It not only established John as a bankable star but also paved the way for a successful franchise.

On the work front, Salman Khan will be seen next in Sikandar, releasing on Eid 2025. He also has Kick 2 and an upcoming project with director Atlee in the pipeline.
