Prashanth Neel's much-anticipated directorial venture, Salaar Part 1: CeaseFire, has become a focal point of excitement among film enthusiasts. The recently unveiled trailer, featuring stellar action sequences by Prabhas, has left fans eagerly anticipating the film's release, particularly intrigued by the promise of intense violence in what Prabhas dubs his "most violent film" to date.

In an exclusive chat with ETimes, Prashanth Neel shed light on the film's violent elements, emphasizing that every act of violence is intricately tied to the underlying emotions. He stated, "The violence comes only with the emotion. There is no necessity for violence just for the sake of violence. I know mass movies sell, and they often carry a tag of violence. The more violence, the more mass appeal."

Addressing concerns about gratuitous violence, Neel clarified, "If Salaar is going to be a mass movie, then it is only because it has an emotion behind it. The violence comes in only because of that emotion. So we strictly have restricted ourselves to the emotion of the movie. Whatever the emotion has required us to do, only so much violence we have shown."

The filmmaker also shared insights into his camaraderie with Prabhas, revealing a four-month period of 'courting' before the actor signed on.

Apart from Prabhas, Salaar stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan in pivotal roles, unfolding an emotional narrative of two brothers. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur, the film is set to hit theaters on December 22, 2023. Given its intense combat and battle scenes, Salaar Part 1: CeaseFire has received an 'A' certificate from the censor board, promising a gripping cinematic experience for audiences.
