Saina Nehwal shares story of a paparazzi protesting against actor Siddharth's tweet against her

Actor Siddharth has found himself in a grave controversy as he faced a massive social media backlash over his comments on badminton player Saina Nehwal's tweet about PM Narendra Modi's convoy being stopped for 15-20 minutes on a flyover in Punjab's Bathinda as the road was blocked by protesting farmers.

Now, the badminton player took to her Instagram story to share a paparazzo Manav Manglani's post condemning Siddharth's tweet against her. 

In his post, the photographer stated that he will not be covering the actor henceforth. His caption read, 

"Now that shows his upbringing and filthy mental state. Have decided not to cover him on any of my platforms henceforth. Get well soon @worldofsiddharth."

Saina reposted the story and captioned it with folded hands emojis.

For the unversed, Nehwal had tweeted, 

"No nation can claim itself to be safe if the security of its own PM gets compromised. I condemn, in the strongest words possible, the cowardly attack on PM Modi by anarchists."

Retweeting her post, the 'Rang De Basanti' actor wrote, 

"Subtle cock champion of the world...Thank God we have protectors of India. Shame on you #Rihanna."

Soon, after facing backlash, the 'Striker' actor clarified by tweeting, 

"COCK & BULL" That's the reference. Reading otherwise is unfair and leading! Nothing disrespectful was intended, said or insinuated. Period."

Meanwhile, talking to Indiatoday about Siddharth's tweet, Saina said that she is not sure what the actor meant. 

The badminton player added that she used to like him as an actor but his tweets were 'not nice'. She further stated that he can express the same with better words.

On the other hand, Saina's husband Parupalli Kashyap tweeted, 

"This is upsetting for us... express ur opinion but choose better words man . I guess u thought it was cool to say it this way . #notcool #disgraceful @Actor_Siddharth

The National Commission for Women India had issued a statement announcing that they have taken cognisance and written to the Director General of Police Maharashtra for investigating the matter and registering an FIR under the sections of Section 67 of the Information Technology Act,2000 (Punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) and Section 354A of the Indian Penal Code (Sexual harassment and Punishment for sexual harassment).
