#SahiHai: When Naira put forward a point that society needs to understand!

Star Plus' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has a tremendously huge fan base. And the makers have time and again made sure that they do their part to better the society, by promoting and showcasing social issues that impact day-to-day lives from time to time. 

And the makers have done it yet again in yesterday's episode of the show. 

At the fresher's party, Kunal insults Naira (Shivangi Joshi) by revealing her marital status to everybody, just to get back at her for not dancing with him. Naira does not take this, and speaks up that there is no such rule in any educational institution or the law of the country that restricts married women from applying for admission.

She also explains to the students that getting married does not take away the right to study and fulfill dreams from a woman and that her personal life should not matter to anybody, unless and until it is affecting her studies. 

It is a common perception that marriage is the ultimate sacrifice for a woman and that post getting hitched, a woman's life must revolve around her husband and her in-laws. However, with the changing generation, this thought too has changed in a way. But, unfit this mentality still persists. 

It's time people understand, that being married does not take away any girl's right to accomplish her dreams and goals, nor does it demote a woman in any way. It only drives the woman to work harder to not only fulfil her dreams and pursue a successful professional career but also to manage her household and personal life. 

And as they say, an educated woman can educate the entire household, the same way, encouraging the girl child to study will not only benefit her, but also everybody around her.
