Rupali Ganguly Sends Defamation Notice to Stepdaughter Esha Verma Over False Allegations

Anupmaa drama fame Rupali Ganguly has sent a defamation notice to her stepdaughter, Esha Verma, demanding ?50 crores in compensation. The actor was accused by Esha of bullying her and controlling her father, Ashwin K Verma. The notice, sent through her lawyer Sana Khan, comes after Esha made serious allegations against Rupali on social media and in interviews. Esha claimed that Rupali was involved in an extramarital affair with her father while he was still married to her mother, Sapna.

Rupali's lawyer, Sana Raees Khan, told Hindustan Times that the notice was issued in response to Esha's false and harmful claims. The lawyer stated that Rupali stands strongly against defamatory tactics used for publicity and is taking legal action to protect her reputation. The baseless allegations, according to the lawyer, were meant to damage Rupali's image and exploit her public standing. These actions have caused significant emotional distress and tarnished her personal and professional integrity.

The defamation notice, a copy of which is with HT City, highlights the impact of Esha's actions. It states, “Our client was shocked by the posts and comments you made on various social media platforms, including Twitter (now X), Instagram, and Facebook. Our client believes it is necessary to clarify the true facts leading to the issuance of this notice…”

Following the legal action, Esha Verma deleted all the posts she had made accusing Rupali. This step came shortly after Rupali filed the defamation case, perhaps signaling a change in stance after facing legal consequences.

Rupali’s lawyer also pointed out that despite Esha’s accusations, Rupali had been supportive of Esha’s ambitions to become an actor. The notice further states, “Our client asserts that the derogatory words and abusive language you used publicly against her are deeply insulting. These actions have harmed her reputation, violated her dignity, and negatively affected her career, resulting in financial losses.”

Rupali, according to the notice, was "shocked and deeply disturbed" when she saw the accusations. She had always been supportive of Esha, especially during her visits to India. The notice emphasizes that Rupali helped Esha pursue her acting dreams by offering her opportunities in the Indian entertainment industry, including photoshoots and auditions.

The defamation notice reveals Rupali's deep disappointment, as she never expected such a malicious attack from someone she had treated with kindness and support.
