Directed by Ritesh Menon, Amazon miniTV's new short film, features Rithvik Dhanjani and Tridha Choudhury in lead roles.
‘Arranged’ is a relatable story of Richa (Tridha Choudhury) and Tarun (Rithvik Dhanjani), who meet in the presence of their parents to figure out if they are compatible for an arranged marriage. During conversations, they both discover new things about each other that feels far from normal. Will the two connect or will this new information shock them? ‘Arranged’ throws light into the lives of such young prospective couples, finding their way amidst some odds and uncertainties.
Tridha's Richa, is an absolute adorable character and also sees Neelu Kohli and Raju Kher as her parents, and they are as typical as they could be, but it is hearty to see them after all. A lot lies in the small details, like Richa's mother putting her a blue bindi and Tarun noticing it from the window, just the little things that probably happen in an arranged marriage set up.
Rithvik's Tarun is also a nicely written character, and well, for that, due credits to TTT, for coming up with such an easy paced story, with rather natural acting. Rithvik and Tridha too, get along well on-screen. In addition, there's one of the most sweetest and meaningful messages that is hidden at the end of it.
At the centre of this film that is almost 25 minutes long, lies more than just talking about the arranged marriage set up. Without patronizing or talking too highly about anything, but simply written with keeping in mind a message, probably for the larger good, and it delivers just fine.
