Ranveer-Deepika's Padmavati faces protest by regional leaders

The Patel Navnirman Sena has asked Sanjay Leela Bhasali

Trouble for Sanjay Leela Bhasali's ambitious project Padmavati, doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon. Afetr having combated with the pricey behavior of his star cast, a new problem has knocked at Bhansali's door.

After finishing the Mumbai schedule of Padmavati, for which he has built a massive set in one of the city studios, Sanjay had plans to shoot the rest of the film in Gujarat and the southern region of Mewar. But seems like that has called in trouble.

Hardik Patel, President of the Patel Navnirman Sena told a leading daily, "Each person is proud of Maharani Padmavati, who sacrificed her life for the self-esteem of Chittorgarh. Along with 1600 other queens she died of jauhar(self immolation) when Alauddin Khilji had attacked Chittorgarh," stating that is the premise of Sanjay's film.

"But Rajasthan based Rajput Sena's members met and informed that SLB has not studied the history and could damage the image of Rani Padmavati. So, we've informed him to stop the production of the filmand hold discussions with Rajput leaders before he begins shooting," Patel added.

"Bhansali must give assurance of not damaging Rani Padmavati's image, or else Patidhar Navnirman Senawill hold protests against the movie across the country and will not give permission for the film to release in Rajasthan. No director has the right to damage history for entertainment," he concluded.
