Deepika Padukone Reveals the REAL REASON Behind Keeping Daughter Dua’s life private

Deepika Padukone, a celebrated Bollywood actress, and her husband, Ranveer Singh, welcomed their daughter Dua last year. They have chosen to keep her away from the paparazzi and social media to provide her with a normal childhood, similar to Deepika's own upbringing. In an interview, Deepika recently shared that they consciously keep Dua away from the spotlight, a decision driven by heartfelt and relatable reasons.

Deepika Padukone, in Marie Claire, discussed wanting Dua to have a childhood like her own, "free from any expectation." She explained, "We weren't burdened with our parents' hopes and dreams."

The actress, also the daughter of a famous athlete, has a blueprint for her daughter's upbringing. She highlighted how her father, Prakash Padukone, ensured she had a normal and grounded life.

Deepika revealed that she only realized her father's stardom later in life, when she saw him signing autographs. Now, as a mother, she's committed to preserving that same innocence for Dua.

In the interview, she also explained the reason behind naming her daughter Dua. The actress said, “I think what was more important for us was to first hold the baby in our arms, allow her to sort of see this new world she’s come into, allow her personality to start developing a little bit." The actress sought inspiration from poetry and music and came upon the name Dua, Arabic for prayer. She said, “It felt like a beautiful summary of what she means to us and why she means what she means to us."

Deepika is careful to protect Dua from the paparazzi, keeping her face off social media, despite her and Ranveer Singh's combined following of nearly 128 million.

During the interview, Deepika carefully chose her words to avoid giving tabloids too much information. She even worried about sharing too much, stating, "I don't know how much of this Ranveer would be okay with me sharing."

Professionally, Deepika will next appear in "King" with Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan, after agreeing to the role following discussions. She will film her scenes later this year.
