Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ali Bhatt have been making headlines ever since the former had roped in the actress as his leading lady opposite Salman Khan in Inshallah. After the Salman-Alia starrer was indefinitely shelved due to creative differences between SLB and Bollywood’s Bhaijaan, various reports stated that Bhansali has roped Alia for another one of his projects.
According to many publications, the movie is based on the life of Gangubai Kothewali, the story of a brothel owner and her life. A few days back a report from Mumbai Mirror suggested that SLB had roped in Kartik Aaryan to play the role of male lead of the movie.
Now we learn that the 56-year-old director-producer had also approached Ranveer Singh for a pivotal role in the above-mentioned project, but as per a source the actor turned it down and Alia is quite miffed with this decision of her Gully Boy co-star.
As quoted by Koimoi, a source told Mumbai Mirror, “After their film with Salman Khan in the lead was shelved, Bhansali was quick to let out another one with Alia essaying the title role. He was hoping to roll it out soon and apparently asked his golden goose Ranveer to do an important cameo but the actor turned it down. Alia, we hear, is quite miffed with this refusal.”
On the work front last seen in Kalank, Alia Bhatt will be seen sharing the screen space with her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor in Brahmastra, she will also be seen in Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2 and SS Rajamouli’s RRR and not to forget Karan Johar's Takht.
