Ranu Mondal biopic to release in 2022; Eshika Dey to approach Himesh Reshammiya

It is amazing to think the kind of impact social media has these days. From trends to songs and personalities, we have seen how several instances have led to many of them becoming overnight sensations and huge stars.

And it seems the perfect example of that can be confirmed now, as internet sensation and singer Ranu Mondal is all set to get a film based on her, a biopic. That's right. Helmed by director Hrishikesh Mondal, the biopic is titled as ‘Miss Ranu Maria’ starring actor Eshika Dey playing the titular role.

As known, composer and singer Himesh Reshammiya was instrumental in giving Ranu her big break, so in an interview with ETimes, Dey opened up on how they are approaching Reshammiya for the film and how excited she is for the film. 

About Reshammiya, she said, "We are approaching him as informed by my director. So, let’s see and hope for the best."

About the film, she said, "I'm very excited, but first of all, I have to reduce 10 kg in 2 months for the film."

Concluding with when asked is she's met Ranu yet, she said, "Not yet. Since there are a lot of restrictions and I’m in Mumbai and she is in Ranaghat (West Bengal), so we are going to meet virtually."

We are certain the fans will be excited to see the film.
