Actor Rani Mukerji is an absolute legend as we know and over the years, she has managed to carve out some of the most loved and appreciated characters that continue to strike a chord as ever. One of those from the list is that of Tina from the Karan Johar directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai that also starred Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.
However, the character of Tina has also received flak from a section of the audience and hasn't necessarily aged well now, almost 23 years later. Recently, Mukerji defended the character by stating that it had a lot of depth in it.
Talking about it to a news portal, Mukerji said that Tina was very hard to get for Rahul which resulted in him having the curiosity to go more after her. According to her, the fact that she sang ‘Om Jai Jagdish Hare’ on the college campus while he thought that she’s born and brought up in London, showed that she is so deeply rooted to her culture and that she’s so grounded.
Elaborating further, she added that there was a lot of depth to Tina’s character for someone like Rahul to have fallen for her because, at the end of it all, it was Tina who understood the love that Rahul and Anjali had for each other. The actress also went on to point out at the fact that she also makes her daughter reunite the two of them.
On the workfront, Mukerji was only recently seen in Bunty Aur Babli 2 and will next be seen in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway.
