Rangbaaz Phirse: Sharad Kelkar to Play an Ilicit Liquor Trader

After the success of season one, ZEE5 has announced the second season of its popular series, Rangbaaz. The new season titled as Rangbaaz Phirse will see Bollywood actors Jimmy Shergill and Gul Panag in lead roles. As per our latest information, actor Sharad Kelkar who has worked in several Television shows and Bollywood movies of note has joined the stellar cast of the gangster drama.

According to a report in PTI, Sharad will be seen playing a character named Raju Thehat, an illegal liquor trader in Rajasthan. He is fond of women and cars and holds a strong position in the jatt politics of the state.

"Raju Thehat is a solid character. For me, negative roles are challenging and I feel as an actor, doing different kinds of roles is very important. 'Rangbaaz Phirse' is shaping up really well and I cannot wait for the audience to watch the series on ZEE5," Sharad said in a statement.

Produced by JAR Productions, written by Siddharth Mishra and directed by Sachin Pathak, Rangbaaz is a nine-episode, fast-paced crime thriller, which will bring an unusual tale of a dream gone wrong. The series deals with caste supremacy and political rivalry of a gangster, who is also referred to as ‘Robinhood’ by many.

ZEE5 also shared the first motion poster and launch date of the upcoming series. The poster showcasing bullets and a cowboy hat hints at more bloodshed and an intense drama. The series will be available for streaming from 20th December.
