It looks like Ramayana actress Sai Pallavi had enough. Some Tamil news handles had reported that Sai Pallavi had quit eating non-veg food as she is playing the role of Maa Sita. This comes after reports of how Ranbir Kapoor quit non-veg food and consumption of alcohol to prepare for the character of Lord Rama. But in his case, he had only said in an interview that he was on a diet for the once-in-a-lifetime role of Lord Rama. Now, Sai Pallavi is a vegetarian since birth. The Amaran actress is from a Badaga Tamil family. In this sense, reports of her turning vegetarian are quite baseless.
Sai Pallavi took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam such news. She wrote, “Most of the times, Almost every-time, I choose to stay silent whenever I see baseless rumours/ fabricated lies/ incorrect statements being spread with or without motives (God knows) but it’s high-time that I react as it keeps happening consistently and doesn’t seem to cease; especially around the time of my films’ releases/ announcements/ cherish-able moments of my career! Next time I see any “reputed” page or media/ individual carrying a cooked up crappy story in the name of news or gossip then you will hear from me legally! Period!”

The movie made over Rs 100 crore at the box office, and Sai Pallavi was praised for her performance as Indhu Varghese in the movie. But there was a huge outcry about her being cast in a nationalist movie after a video clip went viral where she spoke about terrorism. It was a small video and the whole context was missed. Sai Pallavi got a lot of hate for the same. The producers also had to alter the publicity for this very reason. People who saw Amaran in the theatres fell in love with the characters of Mukund Varadarajan and Indhu Varghese.
They said they were the soul of the stirring movie. Sai Pallavi could hardly enjoy the success of the film. Even her visit to the National War Memorial was trolled on social media. It is understandable that the actress wants to protect herself especially when it is a movie like Ramayana. The epic has deep emotional resonance with every Indian.
