Rakul Preet Singh on the huge line up of films ahead & relationship with Jaccky Bhagnani

Owing to the pandemic and the many delays it has enabled, we have seen how a few actors haven't had a release for a long time and a few others who literally have a chunk of upcoming projects piling up. Belonging to the latter is actor Rakul Preet Singh.

She did have a pretty busy 2021 as she was seen in Telugu films Check and Konda Polam apart from the Bollywood film, Sardar Ka Grandson.

But 2022 is gonna be even busier over six to seven releases lined up and a couple more which might go to next year.

Talking about it in detail with ETimes, Preet Singh first talked about how unfortunate the pandemic has been on everyone. She said, "At the end of 2021, we were looking forward to films releasing in theatres once again, and then, suddenly, we were holed up at home because of rising COVID cases. So, in times like these, I don’t want to make big plans. I just want the work that I have done so far to come out. Had everything gone as planned, Attack would have been released by now and other films would have queued up sooner. Each film that I feature in is different from the other. My current slate is a blend of commercial cinema and author-backed parts. I hope people appreciate me in these projects. The only thing I hope and see happening in 2022 is more good work and better health and well-being of my loved ones."

Talking about taking a break between work, she said, "I  make the time and space to breathe between work. Right now, due to the pandemic, it might look like a long list of films, but it was all planned and spaced out for release over two years. I believe in striking a balance. When I am at work, I’m all there and when I’m not, I am totally disconnected. I give immense importance to work, but I also give a lot of importance to working out, being healthy and keeping my mind and body in shape, and that has kept me going. It’s important to be healthy and happy inside out."

Jackky and I connected on things like food, working out and our outlook towards life. When we thought it was appropriate to speak about things, we did.

Talking about the big line up she has, she said, "There are six films lined up, with little work pending on two of them. There’s Runway 34, based on true incidents, in which I play a co-pilot. Doctor G is another interesting film that has taught me a lot. There’s Chhatriwali, which addresses an important topic and Thank God that has a Munnabhai vibe to it. There’s a reason I haven’t blocked out my date diary for the year. If something phenomenal comes my way, I don’t want to be in a state where I feel like I wish I had waited. I have two projects to kick off this year. I want to see how things play out and then decide what I want to try out next."

Finally concluding talking about making her relationship with Jaccky Bhagnani official and how they haven't posted anything as such post that, she said, "That’s how we both like it. We’re both very similar people. We like to keep it simple. Jackky and I connected on things like food, working out and our outlook towards life. When we thought it was appropriate to speak about things, we did. We’ll talk further only when we feel we’re ready. Right now, it’s a beautiful, happy space that we’re in."
