Sameer Dharmadhikari, a known face in the ad industry and theatre world is now seen in NDTV Imagine’s Main Teri Parchhain Hoon.
He is playing the role of Sachin Tyagi, the sole earning person in that household. The story revolves around the male protagonist who suddenly loses his wife, and then enters a young girl into his life. Sameer believes the he relates very much to the character he plays. “I am myself very ambitious, a family oriented man, so it is fun to portray this type of a role.” Talking about the story line, he says “Till now I have not experienced the trauma of losing someone special in my life. But while I was playing this character, I got to know how one feels.”
Being an actor who is fond of action oriented roles, Sameer is excited about doing something different. “It's very good. Here I play a middle aged man who loses his wife at an early stage of his life. Far from my previous action roles, I am doing something different as my role is packed with various emotions”, explains the actor.
Talking about his journey, Sameer opines, “I have always given my best to this industry. I started with theater and I have done films. I got a chance to work in a great film 'Satha'. The medium in which we work can be different, but the way the actors perform is always the same. Every medium has a different charm to it.” His main reason for going for this role is the production house. According to Sameer, Rajshri Production is good and have some really talented technicians, besides best directors. “This production house has a unique way of portraying their characters through which audience easily relate themselves with the storylines. The channel also has very experienced people,” adds Sameer.
As far as his choices for roles go, “There are many roles that I would love to do. I have done a negative character in Satha, played a Fighters pilot in Agnipankh and have done many ads on television. I would now like to do historic, basically a periodic role,” says Sameer.
Apart from television, Sameer has a Hindi film too under his belt, titled ‘Control’, which will convey an ‘Anti-Tobacco’ message to the viewers.
