Rajkummar Rao’s Maalik Gets New Release Date: Actor Turns Fierce Gangster in Action-Packed Role

Rajkummar Rao, known for his versatile acting, is all set to surprise his fans with a powerful gangster avatar in his upcoming film Maalik. The action entertainer was initially set to release on June 20, 2025, but now, fans will have to wait a bit longer. The film will now hit theatres on 11th July 2025.

On Friday, the makers announced the new release date on social media. They also revealed a fierce poster of Rajkummar holding a gun, looking bold and intense. The caption read, “Raub, Rutba, aur RAJ hoga Maalik ka, 11 July se. Aa rahe hain #Maalik, 11 July se sirf cinemagharon mein.” This striking announcement immediately caught attention and created a buzz online.

Maalik is directed by Pulkit, who is known for his grip on thrillers and emotional drama. The film is produced by Kumar Taurani under Tips Films and Jay Shewakramani from Northern Lights Films. The makers have confirmed that the film is still under post-production, and hence, the release has been delayed.

Rajkummar Rao’s role in this film is very different from what we’ve seen him do before. He has made people laugh in movies like Bareilly Ki Barfi, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, and Chhalaang, where his comic timing was praised. But this time, he is ready to show his darker side. In Maalik, Rajkummar will play a hardcore gangster with intensity and power.

The first look of the film was shared last year on Rajkummar’s 40th birthday. He had posted an intense image of himself in a rugged gangster look, holding a gun. The caption said, “#Maalik ki duniya mein aapka Swagat hai. Shoot shuru ho chuka hai, jald hi mulaqat hogi!” The poster had another bold line: “Paeda nahi huye toh kya, ban toh sakte hai.” This fierce dialogue adds to the mystery and strength of his character.

Before Maalik, Rajkummar Rao’s next release will be Bhool Chuk Maaf, also starring Wamiqa Gabbi. The film will hit theatres on May 9, 2025.
