Rajkummar Rao is gearing up for his role in the upcoming biopic "Srikanth," based on the life of visually-inspired industrialist Srikanth Bolla, set to hit theaters on May 10. However, a recent appearance by the actor on the red carpet sparked viral speculation about his appearance, with some online users suggesting he underwent plastic surgery, leading to a drastic transformation.
Addressing the rumors in an interview with India Today, Rajkummar Rao dismissed the claims, stating, "If you have seen that picture, it doesn’t even look like me. It was really funny because it’s not even me. I guess someone played a prank. I strongly believe that it was a touched-up image."
Following the circulation of the edited video, netizens began sharing comparison photos of Rajkummar's past and present looks, prompting discussions about plastic surgery.
However, the actor clarified, "People were using big words like plastic surgery, but I have never gone under the knife."
While Rajkummar Rao acknowledged using fillers nearly a decade ago to enhance his appearance, he emphasized that it was a decision made to boost his confidence and achieve facial balance, under the guidance of a dermatologist. He stressed, "If anyone wants to do that to gain confidence, then why not? There is no harm in it."
Regarding the online attention, Rajkummar Rao found humor in the situation, noting, "Also, there are trolls who do that just for attention. I think that’s the saddest thing that one can do." He advocated for personal choices that contribute to happiness and confidence, whether it involves cosmetic procedures or other forms of self-care.
