"I love to live the life of a common man!" - Sameer

Actor Sameer Dharmadhikari says that he believes in maintaining a thin line between his personal life and professional life.

Sameer DharmadhikariThe very good looking and talented Telly town actor Sameer Dharmadhikari, who is currently essaying the role of King Suddhodana, father of Prince Siddharth in Zee TV's new historical show Buddha, has been praised for his earlier on-screen kingly avatar in popular shows like Ek Veer Stree ki Kahaani Jhansi Ki Rani and Mahabharat.

Relating to a character of a bygone era may appear idealistic, but actor Sameer Dharmadhikari has absolutely no qualms about maintaining a low profile inspite of having hit shows under his belt. Says Sameer, "I am very happy as an actor but just when I'm out of my costumes, I love to live the life of a common man as Sameer Dharmadhikari."

When quizzed Sameer about the reality shows, whereby the actor will get a chance to put forward the real-life of Sameer Dharmadhikari and connect with his fans, the actor prefers to maintain a thin line between his personal life and profession. He says, "I was offered Bigg Boss in its first season but the psychology of the makers was such that this guy is not interesting because he won't create any controversy. At that time, there was a choice between me and Rahul Roy but frankly speaking I was never keen on doing the show. Like I said, I will be always happy to do more of fictional shows, whereby I get an opportunity to live different characters. Reality shows are something which is not on my list as of now."

Ask Sameer about the shows he likes to watch on television, he says, "I don't really follow any shows. However, Pavitra Rishta was certainly followed by my wife and my mom."

Not many people know that Sameer has also been inclined towards working in theater. Regarding the same, Sameer says, "It's true that earlier in the past I was also influenced by theater and plays. Last time I had performed in a play was in the year 2000 in the United States. However, theater and television shows are two different things. I believe one has to be more committed to theater and I really miss it sometimes."

"For an actor, nothing is better than the instant reactions that come from the audience, and the satisfaction you get when you deliver good work which is just priceless," concluded Sameer.
