PVR opens four-screen multiplex in Hubli

Hubli, March 11 (IANS) Indian theatre chain PVR Cinemas has expanded its business here with a four-screen multiplex, taking its total screens in the state to 51 across its seven properties.

Hubli, March 11 (IANS) Indian theatre chain PVR Cinemas has expanded its business here with a four-screen multiplex, taking its total screens in the state to 51 across its seven properties.

The new theatre is said to have a distinct design and is equipped with 2K digital projections, 7.1 channel sound and is 3D enabled with large screens, comfortable seating and a wide range of food and beverages.

"We look forward to entertaining a wide spectrum of audiences by offering them more comfort and convenience, greater engagement and loyalty, premium sight and sound and a variety of movies with targeted programming," Gautam Dutta, CEO, PVR Ltd, said in a statement.

Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, joint chairman-managing director, PVR Ltd, added: "PVR taps the tier-II and tier-III cities as well and envisions providing the people of Hubli with the best."

PVR Ltd targeted the twin city Hubli-Dharwad for expansion as it hosts over 300,000 students, and is emerging as an educational and industrial hub of the country.

The cinema chain currently operates a cinema circuit comprising of 462 screens in 104 properties in 44 cities pan India. The company acquired the Cinemax properties in 2012 and currently serves 60 million patrons at the pan-India level.
