Pushpa 2 Day 4 Box Office: Allu Arjun's movie creates Red Letter Day with Rs 800 CR weekend

Pushpa 2 is ensuring that 2024 ends on a high for Indian cinema. After years, a movie has come that is rocking metros, cities, semi-urban areas and smaller centres of the country with equal fervour. Allu Arjun is back as Pushparaj while Rashmika Mandanna is the doting wife, Srivalli. This Sunday, December 8, history has been created at Indian box office. The movie has already made Rs 800 crores gross at the global box office as per Sacnilk. It seems the Sunday figures for state of Maharashtra has crossed Rs 20 crores, which is simply unheard of. It has already beaten the opening weekend box office collection of Kalki 2898 AD.

The movie has made Rs 200 crores worldwide on Sunday. Trade experts are in a tizzy unable to predict just how Pushpa 2 will make at the box office. It looks like it will overtake collections of RRR, Baahubali 2 and KGF 2 in some days. Pushpa 2 is lagging behind Baahubali 2, RRR and Kalki 2898 AD in the US market. The Nag Ashwin movie leads at the front with a USD 11.23 million in the first weekend. Pushpa 2 has made Rs 85 cr on Sunday beating Jawan, Stree 2 and Pathaan at the box office.

While the film has a superb first half, the tone of the second half is very one-dimensional. Allu Arjun’s Jathara sequence is a huge selling point for the movie. It is a mesmerizing experience to watch it on a big screen. In fact, even Interstellar did not get a release in India as the screens were given to Pushpa 2. The emotional aspect of the movie has also impressed fans. Allu Arjun plays the role of a doting husband troubled by absence of father’s surname being attached to his. Fahadh Faasil is back as Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat though many feel this is one of the weakest characters of his entire career.
