#PromoReview: 'Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai' On Sony TV Is Like Blurred Memories In Rewind!

Sony TV is all set to bring in an array of new shows, including the likes of Hassil, Yeh Un Dino Ki Baat Hai, Super Dancer 2 and many others. And, while we have already seen the first look for Super Dancer 2 and Hassil, the promo for Yeh Un Dino Ki Baat Hai came just yesterday, and here's what we think about it.

What is it about?

With a backdrop set in the 90s, the show is a walk down the memory lane to things we now only talk about with parents and elders. It beautifully portrays all the little things that were once a part and parcel of life, but are now, nowhere to be found.

A story inspired from the real life love story of Shashi and Sumeet Mittal, it has Arshi Singh and Randeep Rai playing the lead roles of Naina and Sameer. The show, as seen from the promos is set in the early era and will gradually move to more modern times.

The promo ends at a point where Sameer bumps into Naina, and in the most filmiest of ways, they fall on the floor with things all over, and have an eye lock moment.

The Good:

For starters, a winter morning in the month of February is perfectly described as it would be in the 90s. And, for a kid who was born in that decade, the elements that have been taken into consideration are extremely relatable.

From the squeezing of that extra toothpaste, to the kit - kit game etched on the road, and of course, the dramatic representation of the newspapers in early morning. Back in time, when everyone relied on the antennae for cable TV, people coming together for watching an India - Pakistan match is yet another memory that many might relive.

Kids playing marbles, while others read the comic books, the promo sure highlights all that the teenagers today are missing out on.

The Not So Good:

While all the elements have been given due importance, the visual treatment meted out for the time being talked about here could have been better.

And, what comes across as an apprehension to us is the voice over which is a little cringy. It would have been better had we just been shown the visuals, without the voice over, thereby letting the viewers have their own perceptions.

Verdict:

From the looks of it, the show shall be a simple teenage love saga, the kind we now hear stories about. With some major feels from the 90s, we think that the show will fair well with the viewers given the entire setting and the backdrop.
