Power couple Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have bid farewell to their luxurious Los Angeles residence following a slew of issues rendering the property "virtually unlivable," as reported by Page Six. The high-profile duo now finds themselves entangled in a legal dispute with the sellers, stemming from water damage that escalated into a mold infestation, ultimately deeming the mansion "dangerous from a health perspective to occupy."
Acquired by the couple in 2019 for a whopping $20 million, the opulent estate boasted seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a temperature-controlled wine cellar, chef’s kitchen, home theatre, bowling alley, spa, steam shower, gym, and a billiards room. However, their dream home turned into a nightmare as waterproofing issues emerged soon after the purchase, leading to mold contamination and various related problems.
A lawsuit, filed in May 2023, reveals that the pool and spa presented complications shortly after the acquisition, initiating a cascade of structural issues. The legal complaint details water leaks in the barbecue area on the deck, exacerbating the overall damages to the property.
Seeking "consequential damages," Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are determined to hold the sellers accountable. The lawsuit outlines their claim: "In the alternative, plaintiff should be reimbursed for all costs of repair, plus compensation for the loss of use and other damages caused by defendants’ conduct." The estimated cost for repairing the mansion is projected to surpass $1.5 million, potentially reaching up to $2.5 million.
While awaiting the resolution of their legal battle, the celebrity couple, along with their daughter Malti Marie, has temporarily relocated to another property. Nick recently made a trip to India with the Jonas Brothers for their debut performance at Lollapalooza India, showcasing the couple's enduring ties to both the entertainment industry and their abode in the City of Angels.
