The Bhatt brothers have been known for their taste in quality music. Pritam has rightly acquired the tag of hit machine in the music industry. Hence, when the team comes together again, it is time for great anticipation for something extraordinary to happen again.

After a hat-trick of musical successes in ‘Gangster’, ‘Woh Lamhe’ and ‘Awarapan’, Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt have roped in music composer Pritam again for the music of their forthcoming film release ‘Jannat’. The film revolves around the theme of match fixing and betting in the world of cricket and stars Emraan Hashmi as the lead protagonist.

Music in each of the three afore-mentioned films has been widely acknowledged and appreciated in the past. Whether it is ‘Gangster’, ‘Woh Lamhe’ or ‘Awarapan’, each of them has established itself in the category of a catalogue album and continues to register consistent sales till date. While ‘Gangster’ stays on to be Pritam's biggest success ever with the Bhatt brothers, both ‘Woh Lamhe’ and ‘Awarapan’ have made their way up the music charts as well.

Though it is a different matter that multiple Pakistani composers were officially credited for their work in ‘Awarapan’, with Pritam being roped in the capacity of a music arranger the fact remains that songs like 'To Phir Aao' and 'Tera Mera Rishta' were two major highlights of the soundtrack.

Post the release of ‘Awarapan’, Vishesh Films did have ‘Dhoka’ and ‘Showbiz’ as their next two projects but none could manage face saving musical sales, let alone even coming near the magical run they had with Pritam in their last few outings.

Meanwhile, Pritam has been enjoying a great run with multiple successful soundtracks like ‘Jab We Met’, ‘Life in a Metro’ ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ and most recently ‘Race’. With ‘Jannat’ round the corner, it seems like yet another successful outing for the composer in sight. Emraan Hashmi factor counts as well because except for a film or two which didn't have good music in spite of the young actor featuring in them, all his remaining projects have always boasted of chartbuster music.

By middle of February, the music of ‘Jannat’ is expected to hit the stands. While one waits for the promos to arrive on air, Pritam is quite positive about the music of ‘Jannat’. He says, "Normally I have a knack of knowing if a song of mine or an album in entirety will work or not with the audience. In case of 'Jannat', I don't see any reason why it should not work with the audience. I have a strong feeling that we have got it right with ‘Jannat’."

Well, even Bhatts would want to get it right with ‘Jannat’. After all since the release of ‘Woh Lamhe’, they haven't seen a movie of theirs working at the box office. If the music of ‘Jannat’ clicks, it would only help the project gain further momentum.

‘Jannat’ is directed by debutant director Kunal Deshmukh, an erstwhile assistant director with Mohit Suri, Bhatt's current blue-eyed boy after ‘Zeher’, ‘Kalyug’, ‘Woh Lamhe’ and ‘Awarapan’. The film is looking at an April 4 release.
