Prateik hopes 'Issaq' proves to be his turning point

Actor Prateik believes that the much-awaited turning point of his life can come with his upcoming release "Issaq".

Actor Prateik believes that the much-awaited turning point of his life can come with his upcoming release "Issaq".

"Turning point of my life hasn't come yet. If you (audience) help me, then that turning point will come with 'Issaq'," the 26-year-old said while addressing a young crowd at a college here Friday.

Prateik, who has earlier featured in films like "Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na", "My Friend Pinto", "Aarakshan" and "Ekk Deewana Tha", was there to promote the film.

After the superhit "Raanjhanaa", "Issaq" is also based in Benaras, and Prateik says it is perhaps the flavour of the season. But he insists his film goes "a lot" beyond romance.

"You can say that it's the flavour of this season. Benaras is the flavour of this season, even romance is. But we are not just bringing romance, there is a lot more," Prateik, son of Raj Babbar and late actress Smita Patil, said.

Directed by Manish Tiwary, "Issaq" is a modern adaptation of William Shakespeare's play "Romeo & Juliet". Also featuring Amyra Dastur, "Issaq" hits theatres July 26.
