Pranati Rai Prakash: Binny is like a Chatpata Golgappa Full of Masti!

MX’s Player Mannphodganj Ki Binny is a dramedy that focuses on the life of 21-year old chirpy and quirky Binny Bajpai.'The show is produced for Applause Entertainment by Tony and Deeya Singh’s - DJ's A Creative Unit'. The series streaming on MX Player is immensely entertaining with light-hearted comedy, punchlines and rightly fit comic situations. 

We at India Forums got in touch with Pranati Rai Prakash aka Binny Bajpai from the series. The actress was full of energy just like Binny in the show. Pranati spoke to us about her character, what made her take up Binny’s character, her upcoming projects and a lot more.

Here are few excerpts from the interview:-

1)First of all, what is keeping you busy amid this Quarantine period? 

I have been into a lot of things lately. I am learning how to play the harmonica and also I have been watching many web shows. I am already watching Mannphodganj Ki Binny for the third time now! I do not go to gyms. I have been doing yoga for many years now. I am using this time to maintain my fitness. I do Zumba, belly dancing and Bollywood freestyle dancing as well. I also do pushups, planks, and squats. Going to a gym to be fit has never been my thing.

2)What made you take up the character of Binny Bajpai?

I have never met anyone like Binny in my entire life. Taking up Binny’s character was an opportunity for me to come across a person like her in reel life. I was looking forward to do a character like her for my digital debut. I tried my best to get into the skin of someone like Binny. I started mimicking my cousins to learn the way how Binny talks. I could always relate to the small town connection I and Binny shared and just like Binny I am also high on life. I have always been this powerhouse of energy and playing Binny made me feel amazing. I am lucky that I got to play a character like her. Binny is like a chatpata golgappa.

3)We saw Binny’s parents are desperate to get her married since she is about to turn 21. What advice would you give to girls who get married at a young age?

I myself have faced this so I can relate to this situation. I would like to say that girls should not be married off at an early age. They should be given a chance to explore their dreams, pursue their career, face the world and do everything they like. There is a lot that life has in store for each one of us and everyone deserves a chance to live their life the way they want to. Just like every other girl, I have experienced this from my family where my mother would randomly start telling me about a prospective suitor and I would say that this is not the right time. Just keep going and do not stop dreaming. Make sure you have accomplished something in your life.

4)What roles can we expect from you in the near future? Any web shows or music videos

After Mannphodganj Ki Binny, people will next see me sharing screen space with many talented faces in an upcoming ALTBalaji series. I am looking forward to work in music videos as well but as of now, I am focusing on Binny Bajpai.
