Prabhu Deva happy with chance to make love story

Actor-filmmaker Prabhu Deva, whose action directorials "Wanted (2009)" and "Rowdy Rathore" turned out to be box office successes, says he was happy when he was offered to helm a love story like "Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya".

He has thanked producer Kumar Taurani of Tips Industries Ltd. for offering him a love story at a time when all producers wanted him to make action films.

"Actually thanks to Tips as everybody wanted me to do an action movie, and they gave me the opportunity to make a love story," Prabhu Deva said at the film's music launch here Wednesday.

He says "Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya" is more about "relationships and values".

"It is more of a feel good movie, but still there is more (about) relationship and values," he said.

The film marks the launch of Taurani's son Girish Kumar. He is paired opposite actor Kamal Haasan's daughter Shruti in the movie.

Slated to release July 19, the film also stars veteran actors Vinod Khanna and Randhir Kapoor.
