Post Saiyaara praise, Karan Johar shuts down a troll accusing him of ‘Nepo Kid Ka Daijaan’

Karan Johar recently took to social media to share his review of "Saiyaara," a film featuring Ahaan Panday, Chunky Panday's nephew, and Aneet Padda. Johar was effusive in his praise, describing the performances of both actors as "beyond magical." Shortly after posting his review on Instagram, a troll left a comment, derisively labeling him as a "nepo kid ka daijaan" (nanny for nepo kids). In a move that has quickly gone viral, the filmmaker responded directly to the troll, his reply filled with a mix of anger and defense.

Following Karan Johar's review of Saiyaara, where he lauded director Mohit Suri and actors Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, a social media user targeted him in the comments. The troll accused him of favoring star kids due to their family connections within the industry, writing, "A gaya nepo kid ka daijaan (Nanny for nepo kids has come)." Johar responded directly, delivering a sharp retort: "Chup kar!!! Ghar baithe baithee negativity mat paal! Do bachon ka kaam dekh !! Aur khud kuch kaam kar (Shut up! Don’t breed negativity sitting at home! Watch the work of the two kids! And do some work yourself)".

Karan Johar shared his review of Saiyaara on Instagram on Sunday. He expressed that he couldn't recall the last time a film had evoked such a strong emotional response from him.

"Tears flowing and yet the feeling of immense joy… Joy for the fact that a love story has conquered the silver screen and made the nation fall in love …. Proudest that my Alma mater @yrf has bought love back!!! Back to the movies …. Back to our Industry…. Adi I love you and feel so proud to say that I am a YRF student for life! @awidhani what a debut as producer!!! That ball is now officially out of the park! Congratulations!"

Further, he praised newcomers Ahaan and Aneet. “What a debut @ahaanpandayy !!!! You broke my heart and yet energised me as a filmmaker… your eyes spoke volumes and I can’t wait to see your journey ahead…. You are spectacular!!!! Welcome to the movies !!! @aneetpadda_ you gorgeous girl… how lovely and amazing are you!!! Your silences spoke volumes and your vulnerability and strength moved me to tears….
