Pihu director adopts a girl child abandoned in a garbage dump!

The issues of gender biases in our society co-exist even today. The long battle for saving a girl child still continues despite we being a step ahead in spreading the awareness. The Pihu director, Vinod Kapri recently came across a video of an abandoned newborn baby girl lying alone and crying helplessly on a garbage dump.

The video touched Vinod so deeply that he went on to get details of the baby, he found out her location with the help of friends and social media. She was found in Nagaur, Rajasthan. The director then decided to adopt the girl child who was left abandoned. He came out to help her and has now initiated the adoption process and has named her Pihu after the title of his last film.

During a media interaction with Hindustan times, Vinod said, “We did nothing... we just fell in love with that little angel. Initiating adoption process. The long battle ahead.” He said he would speak about it once things are confirmed, “Honestly, don’t want to talk about it till she comes home. It’s a long process. Don’t want to jeopardize it,” he added.

According to the reports, the baby girl weighed 1.6 kilograms and had difficulty breathing when she was admitted to the hospital.

Vinod took to his twitter handle and shared a video of the child on Father’s Day and wrote, “Till yesterday she was UNKNOWN in hospital records, but now she has a name: PIHU. #HappyFathersDay.”

Sharing another video of the girl child where he is seen holding her in his arms, he wrote, “A hug from ALL of you to little angel ... So divine ...”

On the work front, Vinod has announced his next film, 155 Hours. His last film Pihu showed a 2-year-old girl named Pihu left alone in a locked house after her mother dies.
