Paras Kalnawat, who has been in the news for quite some time now got into an exclusive chat with India Forums and spoke his heart out about his shocking termination from Anupamaa. The actor also reacted to rumors of his tiff with Anupamaa's leading lady Rupali Ganguly. Read on to know all the details.

The news of your termination has been very unfortunate and has left your fans heartbroken. What was your initial reaction upon hearing the news?

Honestly, I was not aware that something like this was going to happen. Reason is, that I share a very good bond with the makers, cast and crew of the show. So when all of a sudden I heard something like this, something I was totally unaware of, it shook me. I consider Rajan sir as a father figure. After my father passed away, he (Rajan Shahi) really motivated me and was very fond of me too. I don't want to be completely open about this incident. Because if I do, things will get messy.

Just like all of us, did you too learn the news from social media?

There was a moment when I received a message from the production house stating that I have been terminated from the show. The next moment when I opened Instagram, I saw an article stating that I have been terminated and that I was unprofessional. The same production team had earlier told me that if I would have informed them earlier about participating in Jhalak Dikhlajaa, they would not have allowed me at all since it was a competitor channel.

You spoke about feeling left out on the sets of Anupamaa, what exactly made you feel like this?

There are several reasons. There was a moment when I crossed a number on Instagram. In fact, I was one of the first actors in the show who crossed 1 million. Well, this did not go down well with a few people and this is when all the problems began. I don't think I'll be able to speak about this openly, as of now.  My scenes were also abruptly reduced. And one hint I'd like to give you on this that this was not done directly by the makers of the show.

Your co-star Anagha Bhosale's exit from the show was very abrupt too. In her exit note on Instagram she too mentioned about 'politics' on sets. What exactly conspired?

You know how they say one rotten apple spoils the lot. If you have one wrong person around you, it spoils your environment. In my previous shows, I've worked with people who are family to me now. I don't want to reveal details, it can get messy.

You spoke about a 'rotten apple' and someone who has been giving a hard time on sets. Are you hinting toward Rupali Ganguly since we have also heard a lot of rumors about your tiff with her?

No, not exactly (smiles). I was not hinting at her or anyone specific. I would like to refrain from commenting on this and I want to maintain silence on the same. Because the more this opens up, the messier it will get. I was going through a phase sometime back when I lost my father. I was shooting in Silvasa alone and my mother was staying here in Mumbai alone. I would often end up crying in front of my mother when I'd tell her what I have been going through. This person spoke ugly things about me and my family. Yet, there were no actions taken against these people.

Do you think this controversy will in any way affect your journey on Jhalak Dikhlaaja?

No, Not at all. Because people will see the kind of performer and person I am and will not judge me based on an opinion from a third person.

Paras, in the past there have been instances when your ex-girlfriend Uorfi Javed had commented on you stating that you were very possessive about her. However, you have never retaliated or replied to the same. Do you want to address it now?

There should be some kind of aggression in me to retaliate. I don't carry any hard feelings for anyone. If I have a problem with someone, I would go up front and speak to that person rather than speaking anything bad about them. When I see people speaking about me I take it very calmly. I think to myself that if this person is finding happiness by saying all this about me, I'd rather find happiness in their happiness. All this does not affect me at all.

On the work front, Paras is soon going to be seen in Colors TV's show Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa and has been very excited about the same.

Stop burning bridges and just move on. Take it up as a learning experience. Don’t air your dirty laundry, it has a nasty way of coming right back at you.

All the best to Paras, we'll never know the full story but backstage politics is nothing new. I never confuse characters with the actors, cause some you meet in person are A$$Hole.

Paras has been too open about his termination which has pros and cons. I think DKP were too harsh on him though
