Pandya Store actor Kinshuk Mahajan on stereotypes that exist on TV and a milestone he looks forward to

Pandya Store on Star Plus is currently one of the most talked about shows and has received a lot of love for the portrayal of relations, drama, and more. The show may not be a TRP topper but has been receiving critical recognition for every single character. India Forums got in touch with Kinshuk Mahajan aka Gautam about stereotypes that exist on TV and what is a milestone he is looking forward to.

He said, ''One thing about television is, most shows start with characters that are brooding, and arrogant, and I understand that it has an audience, but now, I feel it is more about character-based shows. You can't pull off the entire show with just one characteristic, even the audiences need variety. The cat and mouse concept works initially, but then the problem with those love stories is when the guy mellows down, it fades away. This is something that is a stereotype on Indian TV. Something else is that when we do any show, we get a movie reference, let's say the SRK from a certain movie, or some other actor and a movie, and what happens is you feed an actor from before, but things are changing now. People are accepting actors doing more of what they want.''

Ask him about a milestone that he is looking forward to and he says, ''As of now, I am doing Pandya Store, and I am really happy with it. And I was doing a South film, which is stuck right now, so I am waiting for it to release. I want it to release and hopefully, when that happens, I get the acknowledgment in the South also. I am waiting for that to happen.''

Pandya Store is a remake of the Tamil show Pandian Store and features Shiny Doshi, Kanwar Dhillon, Alice Kaushik, among others in lead roles.
