‘OTT platform has its own charm,’ Chandrachur Singh reveals why he chose Aarya for his comeback!

Chandrachur Singh carved a niche for himself during the 90s in Bollywood. Offering back to back hits and critically-acclaimed films like Maachis and Tere Mere Sapne, he instantly grabbed the audience’s attention. Soon he disappeared from the scene after being relegated to supporting roles.

Now, the actor is all set to return on-screen, but through an OTT platform. The actor will be seen in the upcoming web series Aarya. It will also mark Sushmita Sen’s comeback on screen. While the trailer has already piqued the audience’s interest fans have been waiting for its release.

In a recent interview, Chandrachur Singh was asked about the reason he chose OTT platform over film for his comeback. To which he said, “Firstly it was the best compliment in my way, and secondly I felt right about it and lastly this is the present and future that has its own charm.”

He further elaborated the pros and cons of choosing OTT platform and added, “Films will always have their own charm, but you know OTT has 9 episodes 10 episode series which gives you a chance to portray a graph of the character. As an actor you get an opportunity to play a variety of characters and content. There's a continuity, when you binge watch you feel watching a film in much longer format. But it's very engaging, and it is a very exciting video format.”

The Hotstar specials delves into how organized crime and betrayal runs deep in a family. It is about protagonist Aarya and how she is pulled into the narcotics business when her family is threatened.

Along with Sushmita and Namit, the show also features Namir Das, Sikander Kher, Jayant Kripalani, Sohaila Kapoor, Sugandha Garg, Maya Sareen, Vishwajeet Pradhan and Manish Chaudhary.

Directed by Ram Madhvani, who helmed Neerja, the Disney+ Hostar special show Aarya is based on Dutch drama series Penoza.
