One on One with the sensational singer, Kumar Sanu!

His voice is a sensation across the country since the time he set foot in the industry. After his first hit song from the movie Aashiqui, there was no stopping this talented singer. We are talking about none other than the gifted Bollywood singer, Kumar Sanu!

Kumar Sanu has several super hit songs to his credit. From 'Ek ladki ko dekha to aisa laga' (1942 A Love story) and 'Yeh Kaali Kaali Aakhen' (Baazigar) to the heart-melting 'Tujhe dekha to yeh jaana sanam' (Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge), he has sung it all. With 5 Filmfare awards to his credit, he has proven himself as one of the best singers in the Bollywood Music Industry.

His melodious voice, he has sung hundreds of songs and has touched the hearts of millions of people around the world. As we catch up with this famous singer, we ask him some questions regarding his experiences when he took part in Star One's 'Antakshari Challenge'. Find out behind the scenes information as he tells us about his experience, his partners, his excitement, the hosts and much more!

How was your experience in the Antakshari ?

It was fantastic. A totally different experience, as I found out that this was more of a mind game than a singing competition. It was all about thinking in mili seconds and reacting almost simultaneously.

What kind of rapport did you have with your partners?

They were amazing. I was awed by the stock of songs they had and their presence of mind. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

How were Anu and Juhi as hosts?

There is no word to express the amazement that I feel at Anu Kapoor's expertise. The repertoire of knowledge he has is phenomenal and leaves you speechless with astonishment. In one episode, he sang a recent song, and then told us that the tune belonged to a forty year old song; he sung both the songs, leaving the audience gasping with surprise and delight.

In the same way, Juhi's command over the recent songs and music is astounding. They are terrific hosts and I learned every step of the way.

Did you get excited, angry or disturbed during the entire event?

Angry or disturbed - No ( pause). Excited , yes. Once, in one episode, they played a song of Lataji, and asked us to sing a song of the same singer with Kedarnath Bhattacharya. My hand immediately went for the buzzer and i answered right away, because Kedarnath Bhattacharya is none other than me !!! So that was not only funny, but thrilling as well as many did not even know about this. So there have been quite a few such moments.

Were you disappointed at losing?

A little. But it was a tough fight and at the end, it was all about how fast one reached at the buzzer. I had great partners and it was a great experience.

Would you be like to be back to Antakshri again? If so, in what capacity?

I would love to be a judge because I have done a lot of singing, though if I have to be a participant again, i would not mind either. But the best thing I would like to be is to sit in the audience and enjoy the music.
