No more Partner 2

Disappointing news for those of you who were fans of the smash hit Partner, starring Govinda and Salman Khan.

The 2007 comedy that marked the return of Govinda andprovided director David Dhawan with plenty of big bucks was scheduled for a sequel with a script promising to surpass the original.

However, despite Dhawan's individual conviction about having finally pulled something together, the latest news is that Salman, finding the script unsatisfactory, has turned down the project. A behind the hype speculated reason doing rounds is the fact that the 2005 Hollywood movie Hitch, which "influenced" the original Partner has no sequel. At this lack of mutual consent hence, any attempts to bring Partner 2 to the screen have been indefinitely abandoned. 

David Dhawan has gone on record to confirm that Salman is busy with other commitments and that he himself is currently heavily involved with the remake for Chashme Buddoor.  Curiously, no mention was made of Govinda's availability status, or not.
