Nana Patekar Remembers Irrfan Khan’s Love for Night-Blooming Jasmine and Heartfelt Moments at His Madh Home

Veteran actor Nana Patekar recently opened up about his cherished memories of the late Irrfan Khan, shedding light on their bond, Irrfan's love for night-blooming jasmine, and a heartfelt prediction about the actor’s stardom.

In a conversation with Vishal Bhardwaj for Zee Studios, Patekar recalled how Irrfan, during a visit to his Madh home, expressed his affection for night-blooming jasmine plants and wished to have one planted. Nana shared, “When he fell ill, he spoke about the plant. That stayed with me.”

Patekar also reminisced about his early interactions with Sutapa Sikdar, Irrfan's wife, who was screenwriting for Khamoshi. “I said, ‘He will suggest our name in the future. He is a very big actor, don’t worry,’” Patekar recounted, revealing his belief in Irrfan’s immense potential.

The Welcome actor highlighted Irrfan’s humility despite his global success, noting that his grounded nature left a lasting impression.

Separately, Patekar reflected on his recent conversation with Anil Kapoor about Animal. Initially hesitant to watch the film, he praised Kapoor’s restrained performance, calling it a standout in contrast to the exaggerated portrayals by others. Fans now eagerly await more collaborations between the two, especially after their memorable chemistry in the Welcome franchise.
