Nach Baliye 3 : Under the Scanner!

You can mark this season in your calendar as the Era of Reality Shows! As the reality shows related to ‘Singing’ enters its final phase, Indian television channels are now gearing up for the next big thing – Dance. The coming months will witness two Big TRP reapers in Nach Baliye 3 and Jhalak Dikhlaja 2; these two shows will surely keep the viewers dancing for a while.

While the contestants to take part in Jhalak Dikhlaja on Sony are still in the speculation phase, Nach Baliye which will be aired on Star Plus has revealed the 10 Jodis to the media and public.

Now taking a closer look at the Nach Baliye Jodis, we can say that the list lacks variety. It looks as though the channel wants to reap good TRPs by taking in contestants who have caught on to fame in the last few months. Is this the easy way out that the channel has opted for TRPs? One can already predict more of cat fights and drama to happen, between Rakhi Sawant and Kashmera; after all, they might carry on from where they left in Sony’s Big Boss, isn’t it? What do we say about the controversy regarding Pooja-Hanif Jodi? Hanif is a choreographer, and news making rounds is that this Jodi has already got the added advantage to glory. Talking about the veteran actor Shakti Kapoor, he has also connected to the viewers in the reality show on Star One The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. So, what’s the common factor between these 4 Jodis? Well, there are no points for guessing; these Jodis surely have had a taste of reality shows before and it looks like the channel has picked up people from last year’s reality shows, for a cause!


As we get deeper into analyzing the Jodis of Nach Baliye 3, one cannot help pondering over the fact that seven of the 10 Jodis are unmarried and are just dating, as a matter of fact. When we compare this to the 1st and 2nd seasons of Nach Baliye, we can surely say that this season will miss the cute bonding shown between married couples. The comfort and the chemistry showed by Husein – Tina, Hiten – Gauri, Varun – Rajeshwari, Sachin - Supriya on stage will always be etched in the memories of audience forever. To say more, the beautiful courtship period that Gurdeep and Arjun shared was highlighted and portrayed so beautifully in the show.




Will this year show the same level of chemistry and bonding? Can popular names like Karan Patel, Karan Grover, Vikas Sethi and Aamir Ali make a mark for themselves and keep the Aura and Charishma of this event alive? The channel has surely roped in controversial names like Rakhi and Kashmera to give a boost to the TRPs, but will controversies and unwanted drama mar the very concept of this successful event? Nach Baliye, in its 3rd year running, has been popular for its unlimited Dance, Music, Masti and Passion; will this 3rd year give us something different? Can the viewers get connected to their Favourite Jodis from Day One? The channel surely promises 13 weeks of non-stop drama and entertainment with more of spice and flavour to it this year, but is this really what the audience want? Well, only time can tell!


As of now, we can only wait with bathed breath for the Big Event of the Year, Nach Baliye 3 to unveil and set the stage on fire…
