'My English is BAD, learning,' says Diljit Dosanjh as he uses ChatGPT before MET debut, Shakira in SPLITS

Diljit Dosanjh didn’t just walk the MET Gala 2025 red carpet — he owned it. But long before the flashbulbs and fashion statements, the real entertainment happened inside a vanity van filled with couture chaos, celebrity chatter, and one very relatable learning moment.

On the way to the event, Diljit was joined by a star-studded crew which included Shakira, Nicole Scherzinger, and Tessa Thompson. All of them were a part of designer Prabal Gurung’s glam squad. Amid the final outfit fixes, Nicole pulled out her phone and began documenting the hilarious mayhem that went behind the scenes, way before all of them walked the red carpet.

In this clip shared by Nicole on her Instagram stories, while Shakira and Tessa were fixing their outfits, Diljit was quietly using his phone. When Nicole asked him what he was doing, he held up his phone and said, “I’m learning English.” Nicole replied, “You’re ChatGPT-ing,” replying to her, Diljit said, “My English is bad. I’m learning.” Upon hearing this. everyone broke in laughter, including Shakira and Tessa.

For the uninformed, All four of them were part of designer Prabal Gurung’s group for the MET Gala. After the event, Diljit and Shakira were seen posing for photos together and later having dinner. For the red carpet, Diljit wore an ivory outfit inspired by Punjabi royalty. It included a tailored suit, a traditional Indian drape, a turban, layered jewellery, and a sword case — all referencing historical Indian kings. While his outfit was talked about, it was his honest moment in the van that made people relate to him more.
