Additi Gupta who will soon be seen on television again with Star Plus dance reality show Zara Nachke Dikha shares her excitement on receiving the cutest gift this birthday, and on the fun atmosphere that prevails during her dance rehearsals and much more.
Here is the 'Heer' of Kis Desh Main Hai Meraa Dil in a talk..
Actually nothing; I'm busy with the dance rehearsals of my upcoming reality show Zara Nachke Dikha. We have our technicals scheduled for the evening, so this year my birthday is dedicated to my new show (smiles).
How was your midnight celebration?
It was awesome, I have cut 4 cakes last night. It so happened that we were rehearsing on the sets and at 12, the production people got me a cake. Later a channel came with their cake, which was followed by a surprise visit by my parents who came with a cake. Last but not the least, my friends popped up with their cake, so all has been so 'cakeful' (smiles).
What special present have you received this Birthday?
My friends have gifted me two sweet, cute Ginny pigs; they are the smaller versions of mouse and grow as rabbits. And they have named it Basanti and Gabbar respectively, leaving me with no option to re-name them. They are very adorable but Basanti is very naughty.
Which was your most memorable Birthday?
I think every Birthday has been great and unique. Each growing year has got me new surprises, treats and gifts. So every year, people have made me feel very special.
Your idea of participating in a Dance reality show after Kis Desh Main Hai Meraa Dil ?
I wanted to explore myself in different ways, and it's more of fun than competition. In the beginning I was a bit apprehensive, but gave in when I considered two main factors - firstly I get another opportunity to work with Star Plus, and secondly the theme 'Battle of the sexes'.
What kind of fun do you have on sets of Zara Nachke Dikha?
We have lots and lots of fun. We are all good friends; they are all amazing, motivating and the entire ambiance is very positive.
Have you taken any professional training in Dance?
No, not really, dance would work for me as a stress buster. And through this show I want to portray the true side of myself. I want people to know the real Additi.
Your fans are waiting for your comeback on television with Harshad Chopra, what's your response to it?
I too have been receiving many mails and I reply to them saying 'Too much of anything is not happening.' I'm really happy that people have appreciated our characters Heer and Prem a lot, but then change is also necessary.
How was your experience working with Harshad Chopra in Kis Desh Main Hai Meraa Dil?
Amazing, he is a very talented co-star to work with.
What was the magical element between you and Harshad that attracted the audience so much?
I think the entire credit goes to Ekta Kapoor. She made the entire track so powerful with perfect ambience, timing, scenes everything. In reality she was the person who made me and Harshad feel so comfortable on screen.
So do you still miss the sets of Kis Desh Main Hai Meraa Dil?
Yes of course I do. I had lots of friends there, we had food together, and played scrabble in free time.
What have been your passions apart from acting?
I wanted to pursue fashion designing but I think destiny had something else in store for me. But now I'm enjoying what I'm doing, so no regrets.
Message for the fans?
Thanks for all the appreciation and I'll keep entertaining you always.
Wishing you a very Happy Birthday!
