Mukesh Khanna Criticizes Kapil Sharma’s Humor and Disrespectful Behavior

Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna recently revealed why he never appeared on Kapil Sharma’s popular comedy show. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Khanna shared that while Kapil’s team never approached him, he wouldn’t have agreed even if they had. He criticized the show for its inappropriate humor and highlighted Kapil’s discourteous behavior at an award function.

Mukesh recalled a promo of The Kapil Sharma Show featuring Ramayan actor Arun Govil. In the clip, Govil was asked an awkward question about wearing VIP brand underwear. Mukesh felt this was disrespectful, considering Govil’s iconic status. While Govil handled the situation calmly, Mukesh admitted he would have reacted strongly in his place. He emphasized that humor should be decent and respectful, which he believes is lacking in Kapil’s comedy style.

Khanna also shared an incident from an award function where Kapil Sharma's behavior left him unimpressed. Mukesh was seated next to Kapil for about ten minutes after receiving an award for Best Supporting Actor. Despite this, Kapil neither acknowledged him nor greeted him. “Even legends like Amitabh Bachchan greet everyone, whether they know them or not. Kapil didn’t even bother,” Mukesh said, calling it basic courtesy.

Adding to his decision, Mukesh mentioned a remark from his Mahabharat co-star Gajendra Singh Chauhan. Chauhan, who appeared on the show, told Khanna he wasn’t invited because the show needed guests with a sense of humor. Mukesh dismissed this reasoning, pointing out how cricketers are treated with VIP status on the show without any humor expectations.

Mukesh concluded by saying he felt relieved about not being part of Kapil Sharma’s show. For him, respect and decency are more important than popularity, and he believes Kapil’s comedy often crosses the line.
