Meet Vedika Prakash Shetty, Alia Bhatt's former personal assistant accused of Rs 77 lakh fraud

Wednesday brought a wave of shock to Alia Bhatt's fans as news surfaced that her former personal assistant, Vedika Prakash Shetty, was accused of embezzling Rs 77 lakh from the actress and her production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt Ltd.

According to the Hindustan Times, Vedika had worked as Alia Bhatt's personal assistant for over two years, managing both her personal and professional affairs, including overseeing the operations of Alia's production house. However, their professional relationship ended in 2024.

On Tuesday, Juhu Police apprehended Vedika Prakash Shetty, Alia Bhatt's former personal assistant, in Bengaluru. She faces accusations of embezzling funds from Bhatt's production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt Ltd, and the actress's personal accounts. It is alleged that Shetty fraudulently obtained over Rs 76 lakh through the use of fabricated bills.

As the investigation continues and more information is expected, Alia and her team have yet to comment. The police complaint against Shetty was filed earlier this year by the actress's mother, Soni Razdan.

According to the Press Journal, Vedika, who previously lived in Marol, Mumbai, had been traveling across the country. Surprisingly, despite her association with a major Bollywood star and alleged management of other actors, Vedika Prakash Shetty has no digital presence. While her career details remain unconfirmed, some media outlets suggest she worked with other celebrities. The absence of verified social media or LinkedIn profiles for the former PA raises questions about whether Alia's team conducted a thorough background check prior to her employment.

Alia Bhatt is currently engaged in the production of Alpha, a film within the Spy Universe, where she stars alongside Sharvari Wagh. The release of Alpha is scheduled for December 25, 2025.

In addition to Alpha, Alia Bhatt is set to reunite with her husband, Ranbir Kapoor, for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War. The film will also feature Vicky Kaushal in a leading role.
