Recent rumors surrounding Malayalam superstar Mammootty's health, suggesting a cancer diagnosis, caused widespread concern among his fans. The speculation arose after the actor took a break from his upcoming projects, leading to speculation about his well-being. However, Mammootty's team quickly addressed the rumors, assuring the public that the actor was in good health and had simply taken a break to observe the holy month of Ramzan. They clarified that his temporary absence from filming was solely due to this religious observance and that he would resume work after completing his fast.
Mammootty's team further emphasized that the rumors were completely baseless and urged fans to disregard them. They also confirmed that the actor would be returning to work on Mahesh Narayanan's upcoming film, which features him alongside Mohanlal. This confirmation served to alleviate the concerns of his fans and reassured them that Mammootty was in good health and would soon be back on set.
It is fake news. He is on vacation because he is fasting for Ramzan. He is on a break from his shoot schedule as well because of that. In fact, after the break he will go back to shooting for Mahesh Narayanan’s film with Mohanlal

Mahesh Narayanan's highly anticipated multi-starrer, tentatively titled MMMN, has commenced filming in Sri Lanka. The ambitious project boasts a stellar cast, including Mohanlal, Mammootty, Nayanthara, Fahadh Faasil, and Kunchacko Boban, and promises to be a cinematic spectacle. The film's production will span over 150 days across various locations, including Abu Dhabi, London, Azerbaijan, Hyderabad, Thailand, Visakhapatnam, Delhi, and Kochi.
Narayanan has dispelled rumors of Mohanlal's limited screen time, confirming that all actors will play substantial roles, with the Malayalam superstar taking on a full-fledged character. Meanwhile, Mammootty is set to appear in the action thriller Bazooka, directed by Deeno Dennis and co-starring Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film, slated for a worldwide theatrical release on April 10, 2025, will mark Mammootty's return to the action genre after his recent appearance in Gautham Vasudev Menon's mystery thriller Dominic and the Ladies' Purse.
