Malayalam directors triumph at Tamil box office

Chennai, March 4 (IANS) Myshkin's 'Anjathe' has received not only a good opening but excellent reviews too. And the film's collections are increasing every day.

The top five Tamil films are:

1. 'Anjathe' - Director: Myshkin. This is a well-deserved success for Myshkin and Narain and Prasanna are receiving appreciation for their performances.

2. 'Sadhu Miranda' - Director: Siddique. Hit Malayalam director Siddique tastes success in Tamil too. It is the case of slow and steady winning the race. This is Prasanna's second success at the box office.

3. 'Pirivom Sandippom' - Director: Karu Palaniappan. The only Pongal film still in the theatres.

4. 'Sila Nerangalil - Director: Jayaraj. Award-winning Malayalam director Jayaraj's first Tamil film, a thriller, has received very good reviews. With word-of-mouth publicity, the film may do better.

5. 'Thoondil' - Director: Adhiyaman. An average film starring Shaam, Sandhya and Divya. Particularly good is Divya's performance.
