For the unversed, Sushmita Sen is collaborating with renowned Marathi filmmaker Ravi Jadhav to bring Gauri Sawant's life story to the screen.

Gauri Sawant's journey as an esteemed activist began when she left her family as Ganesh Sawant and moved to Mumbai. There, she founded the Sakhi Char Chaughi Trust, an organization focused on promoting safe sex and providing counseling services to transgender individuals in the city. Gauri's life took a profound turn when she encountered Gayatri, her daughter, who had been orphaned after her mother, a sex worker, passed away due to HIV in 2001.
