Madhur Bhandarkar's next to be about 1975 Emergency

Madhur Bhandarkar is known for making films based on the harsh realities of life and now the filmmaker is set to make one against the backdrop of the 1975 emergency.

Bhandarkar also quashed all rumours claiming that he is making films called "Bollywood Wives" or "Air Hostess".

He clarified these rumors in a tweet:

Then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared an emergency for 21 months, during which the democratic rights of citizens were curbed.

Bhandarkar has previously helmed hard-hitting films like "Heroine", "Calendar Girls", "Fashion", "Page 3" and "Corporate".
